This is not in continuity with the movies or the comics (normal or Ultimate), however it does borrow from all three.
The world trembles! For the first time in five thousand years, the First One awakens. When archeologists examine a lost tomb, thought to have been pure myth, they discover technology thousands of years ahead of their own. A massive psychic backlash from the First One’s awakening killed these archeologists, and informed the world to his rebirth.
Five thousand years before, En Sabah Nur battled Rama-Tut, the ruthless pharaoh, both men’s egos and power determined their paths as enemies, and when the First One happened to take down Tut’s vast army, nearly single-handedly, Rama-Tut fled. The First One ruled all of Egypt for months in Tut’s place, and when he proved to be even more diabolical and ruthless than the pharaoh, he was imprisoned in a “sarcophagus”. The First One received eternal slumber, until someone entered his tomb.
Since his time, wars have been fought, and Rama-Tut is no more, now it’s a world full of madness, men in costumes, enhanced spider-men, Gods roaming New York, and rampaging green-skinned behemoths. It’s a world populated by the Children of the Atom, populated by a new race of mankind, Homo sapiens superior; Mutants.
The war between humans and mutants is only a day away, 10 years ago, Professor Charles Xavier had a team of five mutants, the X-Men, currently they serve as the teachers of the next X-Men, while still preventing mutant threats and threats to mutants. The X-Men have grown, with three teams across the globe. In Westchester, New York is Xavier’s primary team. After ten years of trying to keep their secrets, the Xavier Institute is publicly known as a “mutant school”, however, the teaching staff’s, and student’s super-hero inspired missions are done covertly. Each X-Man, New Mutant or any sub-division, costume is gene-cloaked, making the X-Men appear as normal humans on Cerebro and any mutant-tracking device.
On Muir Island, Scotland, Doctor Moira MacTaggert houses the Muir Island X-Men, or the “Uncanny” team. The Muir Island X-Men operate mostly in Scotland and Europe, and in Ireland is the third team of X-Men. This third team operates from Cassidy Keep. The X-Men have grown, they have gone through many a change, and fought the worst of enemies.
They were not the only ones, for every action, has an opposite re-action, when Xavier founded the X-Men, his one time friend founded the Brotherhood of Mutants. Unlike the X-Men, they were after making a mutant nation, fighting against the world, instead of fighting for a place in the world. Among mutants, the Brotherhood is the safe-haven they’ve been seeking.
Operating out of Asteroid M, exactly 22, 000 miles above the Earth, the Brotherhood and its sub-division the Acolytes offer a home for mutants, the massive Asteroid M can house thousands all at once. And just like Xavier’s staff, Asteroid M is maintained by the founding members of the Brotherhood. They have no real team, but consist on whoever believes in their ways, and whoever wants to send a message to the Home Sapiens.
The Acolytes are a military police on the Asteroid, following a set of laws set by Magneto himself, and enforcing them with perfect precision. They are almost as highly regarded as the founding Brotherhood members themselves.
Genosha enslaves mutants, the only country to do so, and to do so as part of their legal system, Genosha sells mutants as slaves, occasionally doing deals with Weapon X.
Weapon X was once part of the Weapon Plus Program, but has long since broken free from this organization. Once the X was meant to be the Roman numeral 10, now it stands for the X-Factor Gene found in mutants. Weapon X is known for imprisoning mutants and forcing them to commit horrible terrorist acts. Colonel John Wraith heads this illegal operation with great pleasure. Weapon X is also responsible for the man known as Wolverine, and holds several mutant operatives. Weapon X has a large number of Sentinels, and have been making a Sentinel Squad, based on the Stark International’s Iron Man armor, the Sentinel Squad and Sentinels are all made by Weapon X’s new chief of science and engineering, Doctor Bolivar Trask.
There are several other organizations out there, fighting for or against mutant-rights. Like the Hellfire Club, whose Inner Circle consists of mutants interested in self-gain, The Friends of Humanity want mutants wiped off the face of the planet. Morlocks live in the sewers, seeking to be left alone.
Soon, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse will bring the Great Apocalypse, an event that will change the world; that will populate the world with the dying and the dead. A strange group has arrived, the Six Pack, what they know, and why they’ve made their presence known is a mystery in itself.
